Also, around 40% of Americans say they will definitely not or probably not get the COVID-19 vaccine when it becomes available to them. According to a December survey undertaken by the Pew Research Center, Gallup polls put the number at 37%. That’s sad news not just for individuals who refuse but for the public as a whole. Health officials say vaccinations, social distancing, and wearing masks are the keys to getting the pandemic under control. In response to receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, Dr. Gregory Taylor is taking the 2nd dosage of the vaccine publicly to encourage minorities to follow his example as social media misinformation exploits minority distrust of vaccines. “The reality of it is, in the early 1930s, the federal government launched the Tuskegee Experiment, which denied African-Americans in Alabama treatment for syphilis and secretly documented how the disease destroyed their bodies for years.
