CBD for Alzheimer's
An estimated 5.8 million Americans age 65 and older live with Alzheimer’s dementia in 2020, and 80% are 75 or older. Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease disorder that causes brain cells to degenerate and die. One of the most common cause of dementia is Alzheimer’s, a continuous decline in behavioral, thinking, and social skills that makes it difficult for a person to function on their own. CBD works as an anti-inflammatory for people with neurodegenerative disorders, like Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson’s, caused by brain tissue inflammation. The inflammation is a defense mechanism at the early stages of the disease. In preclinical research, CBD has shown to act as an anti-inflammatory and can help slow the disease’s development. The hope is by slowing down the disease; doctors can find appropriate medication to give patients a prolonged quality of life before the onset of uncontrolled chain reactions, resulting in chronic neuronal corrosion.
Most scientists believe that for most people, Alzheimer’s disease is caused by genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors that affect the brain over time. The precise causes of Alzheimer’s disease aren’t fully understood, however, the central problem is with brain proteins that fail to operate normally, disrupt the work of brain cells and unleash a series of toxic events. These damaged brain cells, lose connections to each other and eventually die. What scientist do know is that oxidative stress and reactive oxygen are the critical elements of Alzheimer’s disease; These two-element signals the brain’s immune response to bring on inflammation. When the inflammation occurs, it reduces the brain’s ability to produce antioxidants and generates free radicals, and accumulates fatty acids and fats inside the cell membranes. This leads to reduced neurons and synapses in the brain, leading to memory loss and other neurological problems. Since CBD is an antioxidant, it can help reduce the free radicals present in the brain throughout the various stages of the Neuro-Degenerative Disorders.
With Alzheimer’s, neural tissues are destroyed rapidly, resulting in painful neurological effects such as memory loss, cognitive decline, and acute general character changes. Brain changes in patients with Alzheimer’s can affect moods and behaviors: Problems may include Depression, Mood swings, Irritability and aggressiveness, changes in sleeping habits, Delusions, apathy, wandering, distrust in others, and loss of inhibitions.
Although CBD does not prevent or negate the progress of the disease or condition, CBD can play a significant role in slowing down brain cell degeneration and stimulate new brain tissue growth.
In clinical trials, CBD has exhibited neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant abilities. The researches has shown promise with the capability of CBD to lower receptive gliosis and the Neuro-Inflammatory result in addition to boosting neurogenesis. The studies provide a glimmer of hope of how CBD can be a viable option for innovative Alzheimer’s remedies. Further Reading:
